Mae McCarty has served as a regional supervisor for EFNEP and SNAP-Ed programming at Iowa State University since 2019. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and bachelor’s degree in biology and Africana Studies from Augustana College. She has a passion for empowering communities and fostering wellness. Mae has helped with various trainings and projects for EFNEP programming including co-organizing a Gender and Sexuality Diversity training for staff, facilitating discussion on resiliency in the workplace, designing a Diversity Toolkit for staff to improve program reach in the community, and helping with an ongoing Wellness initiative for staff. Mae is currently working on improving social media engagement for EFNEP and SNAP-Ed staff across Iowa.
