Kathryn Boryc Smock is the State Program Manager for FoodWIse, a community-based nutrition education program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension. Kathryn provides statewide leadership for the administration and management of FoodWIse and the grants that fund the program – EFNEP and SNAP-Ed. She joined Extension in July 2019 and enjoys being immersed in program planning, implementation and evaluation efforts for EFNEP and SNAP-Ed programs in Wisconsin.

Prior to Extension, Kathryn spent 15 years providing management and evaluation support to federally funded maternal and child health, nutrition, and HIV/AIDS programs focused on improving health outcomes and reducing health inequities, with much of her career spent supporting programs in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. She has worked with several non-profit health organizations, the United States Agency for International Development, and the Guyana Ministry of Health. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish from UW-Madison and a master’s degree in public health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
