About the Speakers

Theresa Mince
Theresa Mince is the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Coordinator at Auburn University in Alabama, providing statewide leadership to Nutrition Educators in 36 counties. Her previous experience includes direct education, policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes, and community building, with a focus on historically marginalized communities. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and Certified Fitness Trainer. Theresa is passionate about working with the community to create equitable opportunities for everyone to live their healthiest lives.
Stephanie Helms
Stephanie Helms is employed with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (Auburn University) as an EFNEP Extension Specialist providing statewide programmatic support to 36 EFNEP counties, and is co-author of the updated Today's Mom curriculum for limited-resource moms-to-be. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Troy University and a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. A 26 year Extension veteran, Stephanie's interests lie in developing different ways to make nutrition education fun to teach for EFNEP educators and fun to learn for limited-resource participants.
Sondra Parmer
Sondra Parmer is the Program Leader for Nutrition Programs for EFNEP, SNAP-Ed, and the CDC HOP grant at Auburn University in Alabama. During her 28-year tenure with Alabama Extension, her work has focused on community-based strategies to improve dietary quality and practices. She has experience designing and evaluating nutrition education interventions that aim to improve access to healthy, affordable foods for limited-resource residents. Her work has been recognized nationally through publications, invited presentations and numerous awards.
