Catalina serves as the State Lead for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Washington State University. She is actively involved in the multi-state research group: EFNEP Related Research, Program Evaluation and Outreach where she leads the validation of food security questions of the Food and Physical Activity Behavior Questionnaire. Catalina has experience with statewide professional and program development for the WSU Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed). Her research interests include program evaluation (quantitative and qualitative) and interventions and assessments of limited resource audiences.
